Libby Camps offers a high quality bear hunt in the wilds of Northern Maine for a limited number of hunters. Our Master Maine Guides have been guiding bear hunters since 1968, and Matt exclusively leases the right to hunt on nearly 100,000 acres of prime black bear country in the North Maine Woods – much of which abuts the northern boundary of Baxter State Park, a protected haven for bears.
Bear hunts at Libby’s have experienced a 70% to 90% success rate. Baited bear stands are provided for bow hunter or rifle hunters. Numbers of active stands per hunter are never a problem. A guide ratio of one on one is typically possible, which allows you to get more personalized attention throughout the week. All transportation to stands, as well as a boat and motor for fishing during the day is included. Bears are skinned on-site and meat is boned for the freezer. Each group of hunters has their own log cabin with bath right on the lake. Home cooked family style meals are served in the lodge around the hunter’s schedule.
Early reservations are a necessity, but cancellations may open up last minute bookings.
